Q - We are new to the club how do we get involved?

A - We need volunteers in all sorts of areas, from organising social events to assisting your age group or helping out on the BBQ from time to time. Our pricing is very low, which means that at least on parent can become a member at take part in the club. Lets us know your ideas and skills. Maybe your an admin hero, a marketing genius, a tradesperson. It takes all sorts to run the club.

Q- When does registration close?

A - Registration closes on the final proficiency swim but could close at any time if we reach capacity.. Please refer to the calendar or early season dates. Late comers must either register online or bring cash and precompleted forms. Available from the registration page

Q - We have paid our memberships, what next?

A - 1) Read the preseason information pack, 2) come along to the proficiency swim, 3) arrive early to collect uniform.

Q - Who runs the BBQ?

A - We all do! The BBQ is a key source of funding for the club so we all support it. Your age manager will request two volunteers to run the BBQ each week. A roster will be posted on the notice board shortly.

Q - How do we keep informed about Nippers.

A - It is very important that we stay in touch. If you do nothing else, please subscribe to our news site at

Q- What can the club do for me as a parent / Why should the kids have all the fun?

This is an excellent question. Garie is a family club and there is plenty on offer for the parents too. We run courses frequently through the season to upskill our members.

Here's are a few ideas of whats on offer but there are lots more to choose from.

  • Bronze Medallion or Surf Rescue Certificate.

      Q- How do I refresh my Age Manager Award ?

      Option 1- If you have several years of being an Age Manager, we would recommend doing the online theory course at

      Remember to bring your completed part 1 to nippers to have it signed off.

      Q - Where can I get help as an age manager or age assistant (helper)

      A - A portal has been set up to share ideas, get access to the course content and age manager related announcements.

      Q - How do I get my national park pass?

      For families that do not already have a national park pass, we are able to issue a single park pass for Garie beach carpark.
